COOKIE POLICY – SPAIN

What are cookies?

The website owned by Janium Iberia S.L. (hereinafter “the website”) uses cookies and/or similar technologies that store and retrieve information when you browse. In general, these technologies can serve very diverse purposes, such as recognizing you as a user, obtaining information about your browsing habits, or personalizing the way content is displayed.

The user may configure their browser to notify of and reject the installation of the cookies sent by the website, without this impairing their ability to access the site’s content, although the quality of the website’s operation may decrease. The specific uses we make of these technologies are described below.

What types of cookies exist?

According to their Duration, cookies can be divided into:

  • Session cookies: designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are generally used to store information that is only of interest for the provision of the requested service. They expire when the user closes the browser.
  • Persistent cookies: those in which the data remains stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined according to when the purpose they serve is fulfilled (for example, so that the user remains identified in the Services) or when they are manually deleted.

According to their Owner, they can be divided into:

  • First-party cookies: those sent to the user’s terminal from equipment or a domain managed by the publisher itself, from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: those sent to the user’s terminal from equipment or a domain not managed by the publisher but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

Additionally, according to their purpose, cookies can be classified as:

  • Technical cookies: those that allow the user to browse a website, platform or application and to use its different options or services, including those the publisher uses to enable management and operation of the website and its functions and services, such as identifying the session or controlling traffic and data communication.
  • Preference or personalization cookies: these remember your preferences for the tools found in the services, so you do not have to reconfigure the service each time you visit (for example, volume settings for video or audio players, or the video transmission speeds compatible with your browser).
  • Geolocation cookies: used to determine which country you are in when you request a service. This cookie is completely anonymous and is only used to help target content to your location.
  • Registration cookies: generated once the user has registered or subsequently opened their session, and used to identify them in the services in order to keep the user identified (so that, if they close a service, the browser or the computer, and later re-enter that service, they remain identified, making navigation easier without having to log in again — this can be removed if the user clicks the “log out” function), and to check whether the user is authorized to access certain services.
  • Analysis or measurement cookies: each time a User visits a service, a tool from an external provider generates an analytical cookie on the user’s computer. This cookie, generated only on the visit, will be used on future visits to the Web Services to anonymously identify the visitor. The main aims are to allow the anonymous identification of browsing users through the cookie (it identifies browsers and devices, not people) and therefore the approximate counting of the number of visitors and their trend over time; to anonymously identify the most visited and therefore most attractive content; and to know whether the user accessing is new or a returning visitor. Important: unless the user decides to register for a Web service, the cookie will never be associated with any personal data that could identify them. Such cookies will only be used for statistical purposes that help optimize the Users’ experience on the site.
  • Behavioral advertising cookies: these allow the information of the ads shown to each anonymous user in the Web Services to be expanded. Among other things, the duration or frequency of display of advertising positions, interaction with them, or the user’s navigation and/or sharing patterns are stored, as they help form an advertising-interest profile. This makes it possible to offer advertising aligned with the user’s interests.
  • Third-party advertising cookies: in addition to the advertising managed by the Web in its Services, the Web offers its advertisers the option to serve ads through third parties (“AdServers”). Thus, these third parties may store cookies sent from the Web Services from Users’ browsers, as well as access the data stored in them.
